| Summary: Artisan School - saving the Beaufoy |
LMHS is working, with other partners, to save the Beaufoy School, situated on Black Prince Road in Kennington. The school is in a poor state of repair, but is a Listed Building, due to the involvement of the Doulton fabrics used within the building The original Doulton factory was situated just along the road adjacent to Lambeth High street.
We are trying to bring the school back into the 21st century by once again using it to train young people in high value crafts, such as jewellrey, leatherwork, etc.
The local Council have been recently looked to sell the building but we feel this is part of Lambeth's heirtage and should be saved but have a useful purpose.
